COLLEGE STATION, Tex. - The Samford volleyball team (0-4) lost to UCLA, 3-0, on Saturday, Sept. 4 at the McDonald's/ Texas A&M Invitational at G. Rollie Coliseum. The Bulldogs finished the invitational 0-3.

In the first game, the Bruins dominated this match and won 30-12, as they led most of the game by ten points or more. For the match, the Bulldog recorded seven kills and nine errors on 31 total attempts.

For the second game, Samford fell to UCLA, 30-21. The Bruins recorded 18 kills and four errors on 37 attempts, and added seven team blocks, while the Bulldogs posted 11 kills and eight errors on 40 total attempts. In the third and final game, UCLA managed to keep the lead once again by 15 points or more throughout the game. The Bruins win 30-11, to take the match in three straight games.

For the match, Samford was led by Callaway Logan and Hilary Gary, both finishing with seven kills.

"We improved a whole lot this weekend since the Belmont match," said head coach Michelle Durban. "As we played Georgia Southern, I saw the confidence in our team rise to new heights. It was also a great experience for our team to play No. 3 UCLA. Although we lost, we will go home with our heads held high and get ready for our next opponent, Chattanooga".

The Bulldogs' next match is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 8, against Chattanooga at Maclellan Gym in Chattanooga, Tenn. The match time is scheduled for 6 pm.
