BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
The Samford women's basketball team will play host to the Tennessee State Lady Tigers on Saturday afternoon at Seibert Hall.
Samford enters the game with a record of 7-5 overall and 0-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference after a 66-59 loss at Jacksonville State on Tuesday. Tennessee State is currently 4-8 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The Lady Tigers are coming off a 77-74 win at Jacksonville State on Thursday.
Samford and Tennessee State will be meeting for just the third time, with Samford holding a 2-0 series lead. Both of the teams' meetings came last season. Samford defeated Tennessee State, 63-38, on Jan. 10 in Nashville, Tenn., and the Bulldogs defeated the Lady Tigers, 60-45, on Feb. 26, in Birmingham.
The game will be Samford's first home game since playing host to Nicholls State on Dec. 9, and it will be just the fourth home game of the season for the Bulldogs.
The game is scheduled to tip-off at 4:00 p.m., and will follow the men's basketball game against Tennessee State, which will begin at 2:00 p.m. The game can be heard locally on WVSU-FM 91.1, or worldwide on the internet at www.samfordsports.com.
