BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Samford sophomore forward Alex Munday was named the Ohio Valley Conference's Player of the Week for women's basketball when the league announced its weekly awards on Monday.

In one game last week, Munday scored a career-high 31 points in leading the Bulldogs to a 91-76 win over Southeast Missouri Sunday afternoon. Munday also led the team with seven rebounds in the game. She made 10-of-16 shots from the field in the game, including 3-of-5 from three-point range. She also made 8-of-10 free throws in the game.

For the season, Munday leads the team in scoring (15.0 ppg.) and rebounding (6.4 rpg.).
