BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-- The Samford University women's tennis team defeated Martin Methodist, 7-0 on Saturday, Feb 12 at the Darwin C. Hardison Tennis courts, located on the campus of Samford University. The Bulldogs were also scheduled to play Abraham-Baldwin today, but due to scheduling conflicts ABAC was not able compete.
"This was a very good victory for our first match of the 2005 season," said head coach Terri Sisk. "We will build off the success of this win and look to our upcoming match against Alcorn State."
For the 2005 season opener, the Bulldogs only lost a total of three games as they dominated in both singles and doubles. Scores are as follows:

The women's tennis team will battle Alcorn State on Friday, Feb. 18 in Alcorn, Miss. Competition is set to begin at 10 a.m.
