BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-- The Samford University men's and women's tennis teams will battle Eastern Illinois on Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Maryland Farms Athletic Club in Nashville, Tenn. Competition is set for a noon start.

On the women's side, the Bulldogs are split with two wins and two losses for the 2005 season. The Bulldogs swept Martin Methodist and Alcorn State, 7-0 each, while falling to Lamar (5-2) and Southeastern Louisiana (6-1). Last week's top Bulldog performer was freshman Katie McMiller as she won the only match in the loss to Southeastern Louisiana.

On the men's side, the Bulldogs have won an overall total of three matches and loss four for the 2005 season. Last weekend, Samford swept Alcorn State (6-1) and fell to Lamar (4-3) in Alcorn, Miss. Last week's top Bulldog performer was junior Johnny Griffee as he won in singles and doubles against Lamar.
