Football Works Out At Practice Fields

March 11, 2005

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford football team practiced for an hour and a half in helmets Friday afternoon at the practice fields on the Samford campus.

The team is working toward its second full scrimmage of the spring which will be held Saturday morning.

"We are looking forward, hopefully to a good day tomorrow," Samford head coach Bill Gray said. "Hopefully, we will get in enough reps to make a good evaluation of some guys at certain positions.

"You don't get many scrimmages in the spring," Gray said. "We need to take advantage of the scrimmages we do have. We are looking to get in as many snaps as we can. We have put in enough so they should be able to go out there and play and see what they can do."

Saturday's scrimmage is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. at the Samford practice fields. The workout is open to the public.
