BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
The Samford football team practiced for about two hours on the Samford practice fields Monday afternoon. The team worked to correct mistakes from last Saturday's scrimmage.
"We saw some things on film from Saturday that showed we are moving in the right direction," Samford head coach Bill Gray said. "We felt good about it, and we were very fortunate to get a lot of snaps in and dodge the injury bug again. Today was a correction day from Saturday, but I do like the direction we are moving.
"What I saw from scrimmage one to scrimmage two was a more aggressive defense," Gray said. "Offensively, we had fewer mistakes. We dropped some balls, but we did have people where they were supposed to be. Our quarterbacks are beginning to feel a little more comfortable, but no one has emerged as the clear-cut choice at quarterback, so they will keep battling it out until someone rises up as the winner."
Samford will return to the practice fields on Wednesday. The practice is scheduled to begin at 3:45 p.m.
