MOREHEAD, Ky. - The Samford University women's tennis team (11-6, 5-3 OVC) defeated OVC-rival Morehead State, 4-3, today (April 8) at the George A. Sadler Tennis Courts, located on the campus of Morehead State University. In singles, Samford's Katie Crawford swept MSU's Leah Lobnitz (6-0, 6-0).

The Bulldogs took the doubles point after winning at court No. 2 and No. 3. Emily White / Sarah McKey lost the only match for Samford against Morehead State's Alex Becka/ Yolanda Araujo, 9-8.

In singles, the Bulldog won at three out of six courts to take the match win. At court No. 3, Samford's Katie McMiller defeated MSU's Alex Becka (6-1, 6-3), while Bethany Benson defeated MSU's Laura Ferreira, 6-2, after she retired the second set at court No. 4.
