RICHMOND, Ky. - The Samford University women's tennis team (11-7, 5-4 OVC) fell to OVC-rival Eastern Kentucky, 4-3, today (April 9) at the EKU Tennis Courts.
The Lady Colonels took the doubles point after winning at court No. 2 and No. 3. Samford's Emily White / Sarah McKey won the only match for the Bulldogs at court No. 1 against EKU's Meredith Giles/ Terin Roof, 9-8.
In singles, the Lady Colonels won at three out of six courts to take the match win.
For the Bulldogs in singles, Katie McMiller defeated EKU's Hannah Bartsch (7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-3) at court No. 3. At court No. 4, Bethany Benson defeated EKU's Lindsay Herrera (7-5 (5), 3-6, 6-4), while Christie Baker won against EKU's Terin Roof (6-3, 1-6, 7-5) at court No. 6.
