BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford football team concluded its annual Dog Games on Wednesday, with the Red Team defeating the Blue Team by a score of 2781-2547.5.

The players competed in several categories involving strength, conditioning and academics.

The players were ranked in six categories according to their score. The categories were: Top Dog, Super Dog, Big Dog, Bulldog, Puppy and Runt. The players earning the Top Dog ranking were Jeremy Long, T.C. Myers and Quinton Griffin of the Red Team and Justin Ray and Cortland Finnegan of the Blue Team.

Samford will open the 2005 football season on Thursday, Sept. 1, when the Bulldogs take on Edward Waters College at Seibert Stadium.
