BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
The Samford football team practiced for about two hours in shells Wednesday afternoon at Seibert Stadium. Head Coach Bill Gray said the week has been a positive one for his team.
"We've had a good week of practice," Gray said. "We were able to get a lot done today, and it was smoother than it was yesterday. We just need to be focused on going up there and playing a good football game. The outcome will be directly related to how we go up there and focus. If we play every snap, one snap at a time, we have a great chance."
Gray mentioned several members of his team he has been pleased with during this week's practices.
"The guys who come down here to work every day are the ones we notice," Gray said. "Guys like Steve Tennin and Jay McCurty. Clyde Triplett has really matured as a player. He is having a tremendous senior year, and we are very proud of what he has done.
"Offensively, I think Graham Lemmond has been a steady force up front," Gray said. "Josh Brennard is a guy, because of what we are having to do on offense is not getting as many snaps as he would like, but he comes down here every day with the attitude of `what can I do to make us better on Saturday'."
Samford will practice again Thursday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. Saturday's game at Murray State is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. kickoff from Murray State's Stewart Stadium.
