BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Samford President Dr. Andrew Westmoreland addressed the university's student-athletes at a special convocation Thursday morning in Seibert Hall. The special convocation was sponsored by Samford's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

In addition to Dr. Westmoreland's address, the group also heard from faculty athletics representative Chris Metress and director of athletics Bob Roller.

The special convocation is one of many activities planned by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for this academic year. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is a group comprised of two representatives from each of Samford's teams that meets once every two weeks to discuss issues that are pertinent to student-athletes and to improve the student-athlete experience.
