Women's Basketball Game Notes In PDF Format

The Samford women's basketball team will take on the Centenary Ladies Saturday at 5:00 p.m. on the final day of the Sheraton Roundball Classic at Birmingham-Southern's Bill Battle Coliseum.
Samford enters the game with a record of 3-1 after a 67-52 win over Alabama A&M in the first round of the tournament Friday. Centenary is currently 1-4 after a 77-43 loss to Birmingham-Southern on the first day of the tournament.
Samford and Centenary are meeting for just the second time. The only previous meeting was on Dec, 19, 1999, with Samford winning, 100-67.
Samford is led in scoring by Alex Munday, averaging 11.5 pointers per game, and Chelsee Insell, averaging 10.5 points per game. Veronica Pike leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 6.5 boards per contest. Taryn Towns is the team-leader in assists, dishing out 3.3 assists per game.
