BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
The Samford football team scrimmaged for two hours Saturday morning in Seibert Stadium. The scrimmage was the second of the 2006 spring season.
The scrimmage consisted of 123 plays, and Head Coach Bill Gray said both sides of the ball had some bright spots during the workout.
"Early on the defense had the upper hand," Gray said. "But, as the scrimmage went on, the offense did some good things."
Redshirt freshman running back Harris Johnson rushed for 90 yards on 10 carries to lead the Samford running game.
"I though Harris Johnson had a good day," Gray said. "He really showed us some good things today."
Junior quarterback Jefferson Adcock completed 17-of-30 passes for 101 yards. Dante Williams was good on 11-of-20 passes for 88 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Wes Alexander completed 8-of-15 passes for 119 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
The Bulldogs will take Sunday off, but will return to practice on Monday. Monday's workout will begin at 3:45 p.m. at Seibert Stadium.
