BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The Samford women's golf team will participate in the annual Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate this weekend hosted by the University of Alabama. In its fourth year, the event will be held at Alabama's home course, the North River Golf Club, a par-71, 5,963-yard course.

After a one-year hiatus, 2005 Ann Rhoads champion Alabama return to host the tournament. Joining Alabama and Samford in the field are 16 other teams from around the country including Arkansas, Auburn, Central Florida, Florida, Florida State, Furman, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Northwestern, Notre Dame, South Carolina and Texas.

The three-day event features 18 rounds a day with Friday and Saturday beginning at 8 a.m., and Sunday beginning with a shotgun start at 8:40 a.m. An awards ceremony will immediately follow the final round. For a full recap and results, go to www.samfordsports.com.
