BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
The Samford football team practiced for a little over an hour in shells Wednesday afternoon at Seibert Stadium. The Bulldogs are preparing for Saturday's season finale at 21st-ranked Eastern Illinois.
Samford head coach Pat Sullivan said his team will need to play well on Saturday to have a chance of coming away with a win.
"We have to not turn the ball over and be sound in the kicking game, which is the way it is every week," Sullivan said. "Whoever is sound in the kicking game will probably win the game."
Sullivan added that he likes the way his team has practiced this week, as they prepare for the final game of the 2007 season.
"They have had great practices," Sullivan said. "That is what has been so good about this team. They know the importance of this game. They are not practicing like they are just playing out the season."
Samford will hold the final practice of the 2007 season Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. at Seibert Stadium.
Saturday's game is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. start from Charleston, Ill. The game can be heard live on the Samford Radio Network. The flagship station for the network is WVSU-FM 91.1.
The game can also be heard worldwide on the internet at www.al.com/wvsu, and it can be viewed on the internet at www.ovcsports.tv.
