The Samford baseball team will play host to Kennesaw State in a three-game series this weekend at Joe Lee Griffin Field.
Samford enters the game with a record of 3-2 after splitting two midweek games with Middle Tennessee. After losing the first game, 9-1, Samford came back to take game two by a score of 3-1. Kennesaw State is currently 2-3 on the season and is coming off a 7-5 win over Georgia Southern on Tuesday.
Samford is led in hitting by Bear Burnett, batting .462 (6-for-13). Parker Gargis is currently the team-leader in home runs with two. Trent Hill (1-0, 0.00 ERA), Eric Lassiter (0-0, 3.38 ERA) and Josh Ehmke (1-1, 2.79 ERA) are scheduled to start the three games on the mound for Samford.
Earlier this week, Hill was named the Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week and he was named to the College Baseball Foundation's National Honor Roll after pitching 7.0 shutout innings last Saturday against Arkansas State.
The teams will play Friday at 5:00 p.m., Saturday at 12:00 p.m. and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Joe Lee Griffin Field.
