BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The middle game of Samford's season-opening baseball series with Arkansas State, originally scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Feb. 17, has been rescheduled for 12:00 p.m.

The game is Samford's second of the 2007 season, as the Bulldogs will open the season on Feb. 16, at 4:00 p.m. at Joe Lee Griffin Field. Samford and Arkansas State will play the third and final game of their series on Feb. 18, at 1:00 p.m.

Samford enters the 2007 season as the favorite to win the Ohio Valley Conference championship. Last season, Samford won the OVC regular-season title and posted a school-record 34 wins and an OVC-record 21 conference victories.

Samford returns six of its eight position starters and all three weekend starters on the mound from the 2006 squad.
