BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
The Samford baseball team will travel to Macon, Ga., for a three-game series with the Mercer Bears this weekend.
Samford enters the game with a record of 4-5 after a 4-1 loss at 24th-ranked Auburn on Tuesday. Mercer is currently 8-6, and the Bears are coming off a 5-1 win at Georgia State on Wednesday.
Last season, Samford and Mercer met in a single game at Joe Lee Griffin Field. The Bears took the game by a score of 4-0.
Samford is led at the plate by Parker Gargis with a .389 average, three home runs and five RBI. Michael Marseco is currently batting .361, while Bear Burnett is batting .357 for the Bulldogs. Trent Hill has been the leader of the pitching staff with a 2-0 record and a 0.64 ERA. Samford and Mercer will play on Friday at 4:00 p.m., Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
