BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford men's and women's tennis teams will play host to the Eastern Illinois Panthers Thursday to continue their homestand at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion. Both Bulldog teams are undefeated in the conference and look to this match to keep the streak alive.
The Samford women come off a full weekend of play where they took on one conference opponent and one non-conference opponent. The Bulldogs took on Murray State Saturday in match in which the Racers gave Samford a run for their money. Murray State jumped out to an early lead by sweeping the doubles point and taking the first two singles match, but the Bulldogs would go on a 4-0 run to take the match.
On Sunday, the Bulldog women played host to Mercer and won that match 6-1.
The Samford men also took on the Murray State men. The Bulldogs had no problem putting away the Racer men, as they won that match 6-1. The Bulldog men also took on the men of Mercer on Sunday, where Samford would sweep Mercer, 7-0.
