BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
The Samford football team practiced for about two hours in shells Wednesday afternoon at Seibert Stadium. The Bulldogs are preparing for Saturday's game at 21st-ranked Georgia Tech, which will be televised live on ESPNU.
Head Coach Pat Sullivan said he has been impressed by what he has seen from Georgia Tech.
"They start eight seniors on defense who have won a lot of games," Sullivan said. "On offense, they have two seniors there. They are solid in every area. They have two great backs in (Tashard) Choice and (Mike) Cox that are good football players."
Sullivan added that the game at Georgia Tech should be a positive experience for the Samford players.
"We have to worry about ourselves," Sullivan said. "We are a very young football team. I think it is great for us to go over there and play and I am looking forward to it. The thing we preach to the team is to play hard for 60 minutes and to play to the best of their ability, and we will let the chips fall where they may."
Samford will practice again Thursday at 4 p.m. at Seibert Stadium. The Bulldogs will travel to Atlanta on Friday and will have a walk-through at Bobby Dodd Stadium Friday afternoon.
Kickoff for Saturday's game at Georgia Tech's Bobby Dodd Stadium is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Central. The game can be heard live on the Samford Radio Network. The flagship station of the network is WVSU-FM 91.1. The game can also be heard worldwide on the internet at www.al.com/wvsu.
