BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
The Samford football team practiced for a little over an hour in shells Thursday afternoon at Seibert Stadium. The practice was the final full practice in preparation for Saturday's game at Ole Miss.
Samford head coach Pat Sullivan said the Bulldogs have had a good week of practice for Saturday's game.
"We've had a great week of practice," Sullivan said. "It's been very spirited. The guys have taken the challenge to try to get better each week. They have come to work every day and we have gotten better with this week of practice."
Sullivan said going to play at a Southeastern Conference school is something he and his team are looking forward to.
"We're excited about going over there," Sullivan said. "Any time we are able to take our players to that kind venue, that kind of crowd and that kind of excitement, it's something that we look forward to.
"As far as our plan, we are treating this like any other game," Sullivan said. "We are going to go over there and try to play to the best of our ability, and play smart and aggressive. If we can do that, then we will live with the results. But, the thing we have to do is go over there and play our game."
Samford will depart for Oxford, Miss., Friday at 12 p.m. from the Samford campus.
Saturday night's game at Ole Miss is scheduled for a 6 p.m. kickoff from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss. The game can be heard live on the Samford Football Radio Network. The flagship station for the network is WVSU-FM 91.1. The game can also be heard worldwide on the internet at www.samford.edu/groups/wvsu/.
