Women's Basketball Travels To Maryland Tuesday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Samford women's basketball team will travel to play the University of Maryland Terrapins Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. (CT) at the Comcast Center.

Samford enters the game with a record of 3-0. The Bulldogs are coming off a 72-58 road win at McNeese State on Saturday.

Maryland is currently 3-1 on the season. The Terrapins suffered their first loss of the season Sunday afternoon by a score of 84-55 at Mississippi State.

The game marks the first-ever meeting between Samford and Maryland. Samford has an all-time record of 0-4 against Atlantic Coast Conference teams. This season, Samford has two games scheduled against ACC teams, as the Bulldogs take on Virginia on Dec. 28.

Samford has played the following ACC teams: Florida State (0-1), Georgia Tech (0-2) and Miami (0-1).

Samford is led in scoring by junior forward Savannah Hill, averaging 19.0 points per game. Senior guard Monica Maxwell (13.7 ppg.) and Emily London (12.7 ppg.) are also scoring in double figures so far this season.

London is the team-leader in rebounding, averaging 6.3 rebounds per game. Maxwell is second in rebounding, pulling down 5.0 boards per contest.

London leads the team in assists with 11, while Hill is second in the category with seven so far this season.

Maryland is led by Lynetta Kizer, averaging 15.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Diandra Tchatchoang is also averaging 14.3 points per game for the Terrapins.
