BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Samford University's tennis matches against Jacksonville State, which were originally scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, were both postponed Wednesday as an incessant rain storm rolled through the Birmingham area.

"Jacksonville State did not want to drive over here with the threat of severe weather in the area," said Samford head men's tennis coach Kemper Baker. "Both matches will be rescheduled and we'll make them up later this season."

The Bulldogs' men's tennis team will next be in action Friday at 2 p.m., as they square off against the University of New Orleans Privateers in New Orleans, La. Samford's women's team will next be in action Saturday at noon as the Bulldogs play host to the North Florida Ospreys at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion.
