Samford sophomore place-kicker Cameron Yaw was named the Southern Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week when the league released its weekly honors on Monday.
In Saturday's 13-12 loss to The Citadel, Yaw accounted for all of Samford's scoring. He was 4-of-4 in field goal attempts in the game, making kicks of 19, 21, 27 and 42 yards. He also kicked off five times for an average of 64.8 yards per kick.
For the season, Yaw led the SoCon in field goals per game, making 1.55 per contest. He also finished third in the conference in scoring by kick, averaging 6.4 points per game.
Yaw made 17-of-23 field goals this season and 19-of-20 extra points. He led Samford in scoring with 70 points on the season.
