The Samford women's basketball team will play host to the Berry College Vikings in a non-conference game Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.
Samford enters the game with a record of 4-2 overall and 1-0 in Southern Conference play. In its last outing, Samford earned its fourth-straight win in a 63-48 victory at Western Carolina in the Bulldogs' SoCon opener on Nov. 29.
Samford is led in scoring by senior guard Emily London, averaging 15.7 points per game. Junior guard Alex Crow leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 4.7 boards per contest. Senior forward Savannah Hill leads the team in assists with 23. Hill is also second on the team in scoring (12.3 ppg.) and rebounding (4.3 rpg.).
As a team, Samford leads the Southern Conference in four statistical categories. The Bulldogs are at the top of the league in scoring defense (55.0 ppg.), free-throw percentage (.778), three-point field goal percentage (.419) and three-point field goals per game (8.2).
Berry is currently 2-3 on the young season. The Vikings are coming off a 66-57 loss to Reinhardt on Saturday.
Berry College is led in scoring by Brittany Coughlan, averaging 10.6 points per game. Kendall Davis has scored 10.3 points per game, while Erica Crumley is averaging 10.2 points per contest. Carol Lampley leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 6.8 boards per contest.
Tuesday night's game is the first-ever meeting between Samford and Berry.
Samford looks to continue its strong play in the Pete Hanna Center. Now in its fourth season in the facility, the Bulldogs own a 34-8 record at home.
