2010 SoCon Tournament Bracket

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Samford women's basketball team has earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Southern Conference Basketball Tournament, which will be held, March 4-8 in Charlotte, N.C.

Samford finished the regular season with a record of 20-9 overall and 14-6 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs will play on Friday, March 5 at 8 a.m. (CST) against the winner of the game between No. 7-seeded Wofford and No. 10-seeded Elon.

Chattanooga earned the top seed in the tournament. The Lady Mocs will play Friday, 30 minutes following Samford's game against the winner of the game between No. 8 Western Carolina and No. 9 UNC Greensboro.

The Wofford-Elon game will open the tournament on Thursday at 12 p.m. (CST), followed by the Western Carolina-UNC Greensboro game. The final game of Thursday's opening round will be No. 6 Davidson vs. No. 11 Furman.

The games involving Samford and Chattanooga are the lone women's contests on Friday. On Saturday, No. 4 College of Charleston will take on No. 5 Georgia Southern at 8 a.m. (CST). Following the Charleston-Georgia Southern game, No. 3 Appalachian State will take on the winner of the Davidson-Furman game.

The semifinals, which will be televised live on SportSouth, will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. (CST) and 1:30 p.m. (CST). The tournament championship game, also to be televised on SportSouth, is scheduled for Monday at 4 p.m. (CST).

The first two rounds of the tournament will be held at Bojangles' Coliseum, while the semifinals and finals are scheduled to be held at Tim Warner Arena.
