BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford baseball program hosted a clinic, co-sponsored by the Birmingham Athletic Partnership, featuring Wes Helms of the Florida Marlins Saturday afternoon at Joe Lee Griffin Field.

The clinic was open to Birmingham-area players. Helms instructed the players on all aspects of the game of baseball. Following the instruction, pizza was provided for the players.

Helms is entering his ninth season with the Marlins. He previously played with the Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies. In the off-season, Helms resides in the Birmingham area.
