BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
The Samford women's basketball program has signed Kendall Schwantz to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Mike Morris announced on Monday.
"The signing of Kendall completes our 2009-10 recruiting class," Morris said. "We are very excited to add Kendall to our team. With her size, she is a big shooter with unlimited range who has the ability to handle the ball as a wing player. She will add depth to our two-three position."
Kendall Schwantz (5-11, G, Frisco, Texas, Frisco HS) averaged 12.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game as a senior at Frisco High School in Frisco, Texas.
As a junior, Schwantz averaged 10.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, leading her team to an appearance in the state regional finals. She was named First-Team All-District and Academic All-District as a junior.
Schwantz was also named District Honorable Mention and Academic All-District as a freshman. That year, Schwantz and her team reached the state semifinals.
Schwantz was a member of the National Honor Society for the last three years and served as Vice President as a senior. She was also involved in her school's Student Government Association and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Schwantz is the fourth and final signee in Samford's 2009-10 signing class. She joins Shelby Campbell, Christy Robinson and Brittany Jack in the signing class.
