Bulldogs' Mancino Named To College Soccer 360 National Honor Roll

Oct. 24, 2011

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Samford soccer player Adrianne Mancino was named a national Division I CS360 Primetime Performer of the Week Monday as the Bulldogs' junior from Lancaster, Pa., was honored by CollegeSoccer360.com for her performance during matches in the week of Oct. 17-23, 2011.

Mancino, a defender, scored Samford's game-winning goal in a 1-0 triumph against Georgia Southern on Sunday. With the victory, the Bulldogs secured their first regular-season championship as a member of the Southern Conference.

On the decisive score, Mancino came up from her position on the back line and drilled a shot from 40 yards out into the top corner of the net. She started both matches last week against Davidson and Georgia Southern, logged all 90 minutes in each contest and played a key role in the Bulldogs' defense which registered a pair of shutout victories.

Texas A&M freshman goalkeeper Jordan Day headlined the 13-player honor roll by being named the Week 10 CS360 Primetime Player of the Week. Day totaled 14 saves in 200 shutout minutes during the past week - highlighted by a scoreless draw versus unbeaten Oklahoma State.

The Samford University soccer team will next be in action Wednesday at 7 p.m. (CDT) as the Bulldogs play host to the Chattanooga Lady Mocs in a regular-season finale to be held at the Samford Track and Soccer Stadium.
