BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Due to the ice and sleet in the Birmingham area Thursday, Samford's Southern Conference basketball game against Davidson, which is still slated to begin at 7 p.m. (CST), will now be a closed-door event.

Fans with tickets will NOT be turned away, but the Samford Athletic Department urges that they be cautious in their travels.

Thursday's game will be played at its originally scheduled time, but no tickets will be sold for the event. The decision was made by the Samford administration in the interest of public safety.

Fans can still listen to Samford's radio broadcast on WVSU 91.1 FM or via the Internet at www.samford.edu/wvsu. GameTracker and live video webstreaming will also be available at www.SamfordSports.com.

Due to Thursday's ice storm, dinner will not be provided for Samford's Bulldog Club members.
