WBB Lands Two On Coaches All-SoCon Team

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Samford women's basketball seniors Emily London and Savannah Hill were named to the Southern Conference's Coaches All-Conference team, released by the league on Tuesday.

Both players were also named All-Conference by the media a day earlier, and London was named the media's Player of the Year.

The coaches' Player of the Year was Appalachian State's Sam Ramirez. The Defensive Player of the Year was ASU's Anna Freeman, while Davidson's Laura Murray was named Freshman of the Year. ASU's Darcie Vincent was named the league's Coach of the Year, and Chattanooga's Bailey Dewart won the Ann Lashley Inspiration Award.

London, who is Samford's all-time leading scorer with 1,698 career points, leads Samford and ranks fifth in the SoCon in scoring with an average of 16.3 points per game this season.

London leads the nation in free throw percentage at 93.2 percent. She also ranks second in the nation in three-point field goal percentage, making 49.0 percent of her attempts from beyond the arc.

Hill, who ranks third in school history in scoring with 1,485 career points, leads Samford and ranks third in the SoCon in assists with an average of 4.1 per game. She also leads the team in rebounding (6.2 rpg.) and ranks second on the squad in scoring (12.1 ppg.).

For her career, in addition to her scoring numbers, Hill is second in school history in rebounds (662), assists (362) and blocked shots (95).

Second-seeded Samford will play Friday morning at 8 a.m. (CST) in the Southern Conference Tournament against the winner of Thursday's game between No. 7 Georgia Southern and No. 10 Western Carolina.
