BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford athletics department will honor its 1991 football team that reached the semifinals of the NCAA Division I-FCS playoffs, at Saturday's home game against Gardner-Webb.

The team will be honored with a ceremony at halftime of Saturday's game, and the current Bulldogs will be wearing red jerseys like the 1991 team wore. The red jerseys will be available for purchase after the game.

The 1991 Samford football team posted a record of 12-2 on its way to a semifinal appearance in the NCAA playoffs. The 12 wins are still the most of any Samford football team.

Saturday's game against Gardner-Webb is scheduled for a 2 p.m. kickoff from Seibert Stadium. The game can be heard live on the Samford Sports Network, including Samford's on-campus station, WVSU-FM 91.1, or worldwide on the internet at www.samford.edu/wvsu.
