The Samford women's basketball team will play host to the Wofford Terriers in Southern Conference action Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.
Samford enters the game with a record of 9-6 overall and 4-2 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs have won three games in a row overall and four games in a row in SoCon play. Samford is coming off a 71-66 overtime win over Furman Friday evening.
In Friday evening's win over Furman, freshman forward Taylor Reece had a career day. Reece scored a career-high 19 points and pulled down a career-high nine rebounds in leading the Bulldogs to the win. She made 8-of-13 shots from the floor.
For the season, Samford is led in scoring by senior guard Paige Anderson. She averages 14.1 points per game, ranking fifth in the Southern Conference. Anderson has led the Bulldogs in scoring in 10 of the team's 15 games so far this season.
Fellow senior guard Ruth Ketcham is averaging 9.1 points per game. She also leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 4.2 boards per contest. Senior guard Jazmine Powers is the team leader in assists, dishing out 3.2 assists per game.
Sophomore guard Shelby Campbell averages 6.5 points per game. Junior forward Hannah Dawson scores 5.5 points per game for the Bulldogs.
Wofford is currently 9-6 overall and 2-4 in SoCon play. The Terriers are coming off a 74-67 loss at Chattanooga on Friday.
Wofford is led in scoring by Morgan Wrightson, averaging 12.0 points per game. April Moorhouse is averaging 9.9 points per game for the Terriers.
Daniella Motley leads Wofford in rebounding, pulling down 8.9 boards per contest. Moorhouse averages 7.3 rebounds per game.
Rachel Brittenham is the team leader in assists, dishing out 6.0 assists per game. Wrightson is averaging 2.3 assists per game.
Samford and Wofford will be meeting for the 10th time, with Samford holding an 8-1 advantage in the series. Last season, Samford swept the season series. The Bulldogs won the first meeting in Birmingham, 79-62, and the second meeting in Spartanburg, S.C., by a score of 68-48.
Samford is 4-0 in home games against Wofford. The Bulldogs have a record of 3-1 against the Terriers in Spartanburg, S.C., and the teams have met once at a neutral site, with Samford winning that lone meeting.
