Women's Golf Set To Host Samford Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Samford women's golf team will host the annual Samford University Women's Intercollegiate at Greystone Golf and Country Club (par 72, 5,893 yards), Monday and Tuesday.

The teams will play two rounds Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. (CT). The tournament will conclude with one round on Tuesday, set for a shotgun start at 8:30 p.m. (CT).

Joining Samford in the 10-team field will be UAB, Belmont, Charleston Southern, Columbus State, Emmanuel College, South Alabama, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Troy and West Georgia.

In the 2015 event, Ole Miss took home the tournament title with a score of 907 (308-302-297). Samford placed second in the tournament, with a three-round score of 915 (305-309-301).

So far this season, Samford has been led by a trio of freshmen. Anna Buchanan has posted a stroke average of 75.83, including three top 10 finishes so far this season. Emily Uhland has an average of 76.82 with a pair of top 10 marks. Crockett Floyd has averaged a 78.63 so far this season.

Junior Haley Harrington has a stroke average of 79.80, while redshirt freshman Madeline Davis has averaged a score of 79.85 in her first season at Samford. Sophomore Kate Collom has a stroke average of 80.39, while sophomore Haley Wagner has averaged a score of 82.36 so far this season.
