Women's Golf Set For Rebel Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss.—The Samford women's golf team is set to compete in the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate this weekend at the Ole Miss Golf Course.

The teams will play 18 holes on Friday, with tee times starting at 8:51 a.m. Saturday's round will follow the same schedule, while Sunday's final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

Joining Samford and the host school, Ole Miss in the 15-team field will be East Tennessee State, Fresno State, Harvard, James Madison, Memphis, Murray State, Redlands, Southern Miss, Troy, Tulsa, Western Carolina, Western Kentucky and Yale.

This weekend's tournament will be Samford's final event prior to the Southern Conference Championships, which will be held April 10-12 in Pooler, Ga.

Throughout the 2015-16 season, Samford has competed with a young lineup. Freshman Anna Buchanan has led the team with a stroke average of 76.04 in 26 rounds of action. Freshman Emily Uhland has an average of 76.32 over 25 rounds of golf.

Freshman Crockett Floyd has a stroke average of 78.76, having played 17 rounds so far. Junior Haley Harrington has a 79.57 average in 23 rounds, while redshirt freshman Madeline Davis has a stroke average of 79.61, also over 23 rounds. Sophomore Kate Collom averages an 80.23 score, having played 26 rounds, while fellow sophomore Haley Wagner has an 81.07 stroke average in 14 rounds of work.
