GAME DAY CENTRAL

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.—The Samford football team will open Southern Conference play for the 2016 season when the Bulldogs play at third-ranked Chattanooga Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT) at Finley Stadium.

Samford enters the game with a record of 2-0. The Bulldogs took last week off from competition. Samford last played on Sept. 10, with the Bulldogs earning a 35-29 win at Central Arkansas.
         
Chattanooga is currently 3-0 overall and 1-0 in Southern Conference play. The Mocs are coming off a 21-14 win at Furman last week.
 
Samford and Chattanooga are meeting for the 42nd time, with the Mocs holding a 28-10-3 advantage in the series. The teams met last season on Sept. 19, with the Mocs coming away with a 31-21 victory at Seibert Stadium. Samford's last win in the series came in 2013, with the Bulldogs earning a 17-14 overtime win at Seibert Stadium.
