1). The Samford women's basketball team will wrap up its non-conference schedule by hosting the Hampton Lady Pirates Saturday. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center and admission is FREE!
2). Samford enters the game with a record of 7-7. The Bulldogs are coming off an 82-76 overtime win over Troy in the consolation game of the Tulane Classic, Dec. 22.

Hannah Nichols is leading the team in scoring and rebounding so far this season, averaging 15.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Sophomore Olivia Crozier averages 10.4 points and 4.5 boards per contest.
4). Samford sophomore Charity Brown is averaging 8.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game. Brown's assists average ranks ninth in the nation. Sophomore Samantha Fitzgerald is scoring 7.9 points per game, while freshman Makaila Woolard averages 6.9 points per game for the Bulldogs.
5). Hannah Nichols ranks second in school history in both 3-pointers made (226) and 3-pointers attempted (604). She also ranks fourth in school history in scoring (1,297) and field goals made (461), while ranking fifth in blocks (69), sixth in field goals attempted (1,063) and ninth in rebounding (447).
HAMPTON
1). Hampton enters Saturday's game with a record of 2-8. The Pirates are coming off a 64-52 loss at Chattanooga Thursday evening.
2). Hampton is led in scoring by Monnazjea Finney-Smith, averaging 13.2 points per game. Jephany Brown scores 12.1 points per game, while Allina Starr averages 12.0 points per game.
3). Finney-Smith also leads the team in rebounding, grabbing 7.3 boards per contest. Starr averages 5.8 rebounds per game.
4). Starr is also the team leader in assists, dishing out 4.1 per game. Dejane' James averages 3.3 assists per game for Hampton.
5). Samford and Hampton have met just one previous time in women's basketball. The teams played exactly one year ago, on Dec. 30, 2016, with Hampton earning a 63-57 win over Samford in a tournament at Florida-Gulf Coast.
