RICHMOND, Ky. – The Samford men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at Eastern Kentucky Friday afternoon at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
 
Eastern Kentucky swept the three doubles matches to jump out to a 1-0 lead. EKU then earned wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 4 and No. 6 singles. Samford's wins in the match came at No. 3 and No. 5 singles.
 
At No. 3 singles, 
Eduardo Lourido Sanchez defeated Guillem Sanchis, 6-3, 6-3. 
Curran Verma took a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Parth Aggarwal on the No. 5 singles court.
 
Samford falls to 1-4 with the loss. Eastern Kentucky improves to 4-3 with the victory.
 
Samford will remain in Richmond, Ky., where the Bulldogs will take on Xavier Saturday at 12 p.m. (CT).
