Men's Golf Wraps Up Play At EKU Intercollegiate

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Samford men's golf team wrapped up play in the EKU Intercollegiate, coming in ninth in the event, held Saturday and Sunday at University Club at Arlington.

Samford fired a team three-round score of 861 (284-288-289) to come in ninth in the event. The host school, Eastern Kentucky, won the team title with a final score of 837 (284-278-275).
"This was another good performance for our team," Samford head coach Al DelGreco said. "We can take a lot of positives from this tournament. I'm happy with the better results so far this year, but not satisfied. We are still not getting the most out of our rounds. If we continue to believe in ourselves and put in the work to improve, we can be a solid college golf team."

Individually, Samford was led by Alec Stopperich, tying for 17th with a score of 213 (70-70-73). To see full final results, click here: FINAL RESULTS.

Samford will return to action on Oct. 9-10 when the Bulldogs compete in the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Alabama.
