Bulldogs Remain Unbeaten With 74-60 Win Over Kennesaw State

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –
The Samford men's basketball team improved to 3-0 with a 74-60 win over Kennesaw State Monday night in the Pete Hanna Center. This marks Samford's first 3-0 start since the 2007-08 season.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
  • With Samford leading, 5-4 early, the Bulldogs went on a 15-0 run to take a 20-4 lead with 11:19 left in the first half following a three-pointer by Kevion Nolan.
  • Kennesaw State responded with a 10-3 run to cut the lead to 23-14 with 8:36 left in the first half.
  • After Samford stretched its lead to 29-14, KSU closed the half with a 12-2 run to cut the Samford lead to 31-26 heading into the locker room at halftime.
  • Samford stretched its lead out to 12 points at 45-33 with 15:30 left in the game after a three-pointer by Brandon Austin.
  • Kennesaw State, however, fought back to cut the lead to five points at 50-45 with 9:40 to go.
  • The Bulldogs pushed their lead to 15 points 72-57 with 1:48 left after a free throw by Ruben Guerrero.
  • Samford finished the game with a 74-60 victory.
