BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's basketball team improved to 4-0 with a 66-57 win over Miles College Wednesday night in the Pete Hanna Center. This marks Samford's first 4-0 start since the 1997-98 season.

Ruben Guerrero scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds to lead Samford to the win.
Josh Sharkey had 10 points and five assists.
Myron Gordon also had 10 points for the Bulldogs.
As a team, Samford won the rebounding battle, 39-31.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

Miles jumped out to a 9-2 lead, but Samford answered with a 10-0 run to take a 12-9 lead with 14:09 left in the first half after a layup by Guerrero.
Samford pushed its lead to seven points at 34-27 with 2:41 left in the half after a pair of free throws by Guerrero.
Samford took a 36-35 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Miles came back to take a 40-38 lead with 17:52 to go in the game.
Samford answered with a 6-0 run to take a 44-40 lead with 15:20 to play after a jumper by Robert Allen.
Miles fought back to take a 54-50 lead with 7:11 to play in the game.
Samford used a 15-1 run to take a 65-55 lead with 1:35 to go after a three-pointer by Gordon.
Samford finished the game with a 66-57 victory.
