BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's basketball team earned its first Southern Conference win of the season to highlight last week's action. The Bulldogs go on the road to continue SoCon play this week.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
The men's basketball team earned its first SoCon win, with an impressive 96-68 victory over the VMI Keydets Saturday in the Pete Hanna Center.
Ruben Guerrero led five player in double figures with 23 points and nine rebounds in the win. The Bulldogs improved to 11-4 overall and 1-1 in SoCon play with the win.
This week, the team will head out on the road for a pair of SoCon games. The team will play at ETSU Thursday at 6 p.m. (CT), and then will play at Western Carolina Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT). Links to follow both games are below.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The women's basketball team traveled to Nashville, Tenn., falling at SEC foe Vanderbilt by a score of 77-52 Friday evening.
Ta'Naisha Hill led the Bulldogs with 14 points in the loss.
The Bulldogs do not play this week, but will next be in action when they host Montevallo Jan. 8, at 6 p.m. The game will mark the team's first home game in over a month since hosting UAB on Dec. 5. Links to follow that game are below.
