BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford volleyball team traveled across the country for the NCAA Tournament, and both basketball teams were in action last week. More exciting action is coming up this week for the Bulldogs.
VOLLEYBALL
The volleyball team wrapped up its season by taking on the No. 11 national seed USC in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs fell, 3-0, but the squad became the fourth team in program history to win a SoCon Tournament championship and earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
The men's basketball team played just once last week, hosting undefeated Belmont last Thursday. The Bulldogs took the Bruins to overtime before eventually falling, 99-93 in a thriller in front of a raucous crowd in the Pete Hanna Center.
This week, the team will play just once, travelling to Alabama A&M Sunday afternoon. The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start, and a link to follow the game is below.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The women's basketball team split its two games last week. The Bulldogs fell at Hampton, 64-57, but came back to earn a 75-54 win over Presbyterian in the Pete Hanna Center.
The team will play twice again this week. Samford will host cross-town rival UAB Wednesday at 6 p.m. The game will be Greek Night in the Pete Hanna Center, with the Greek organization with the most attendees receiving $100 to game play at Top Golf. The Bulldogs will then play at Memphis Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. Links to follow both games are below.
