MOBILE, Ala.—The Samford men's golf team wrapped up play in the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate with the final round Tuesday at the Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course (Par 72, 7,212 yds.).
The teams played the first round and most of the second round on Monday, and then finished the second round and played the third round Tuesday.
The Bulldogs tied for 14th in the 16-team event. Samford finished with a three-round score of 894 (302-302-290). Florida State won the event, finishing with a score of 834 (280-278-276). The host, South Alabama came in second at 850 (287-287-276).
Individually for Samford, Alec Stopperich led the way, tying for 27th with a three-round total of 220 (75-75-70). Aaron Walker tied for 40th at 222 (75-76-71), while Austin Rains tied for 50th at 225 (74-78-73).
Harlan Winn finished in a tie for 59th with a score of 227 (78-73-76). Jackson Seawell came in 80th with a three-round total of 240 (80-84-76).
Harry Ellis and Jamie Li of Florida State shared individual medalist honors. The pair each shot 205 for the three-round event.
Samford will return to action March 4-6, when the Bulldogs compete in the Tiger Invitational, hosted by Auburn University.
