GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Samford women's basketball team fell behind early and could not catch up as the Bulldogs fell at Furman, 57-36 Thursday night at Timmons Arena.
With the loss, Samford falls to 7-14 overall and 2-4 in Southern Conference play. Furman improves to 12-9 overall and 4-2 in league play.

- Katie Allen led Samford with nine points, making 3-of-5 from three-point range.
- Natalie Armstrong had five points and six rebounds for the Bulldogs.
- Le'Jzae Davidson led Furman with 20 points.
- Jade Kirisome tallied 14 points for the Paladins, while Tierra Hodges pulled down 16 Furman rebounds.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Furman outscored Samford, 16-0 in the first quarter.
- In the second quarter, Samford fought back to cut the lead to 22-10 with 3:39 left in the period after three-pointer by Allen.
- Furman answered with a 9-0 run to push the lead to 21 points at 31-10 with 1:53 left before halftime.
- A pair of late free throws by Cassidy Williams and another three-pointer by Allen cut the lead to 31-15 heading into the locker room at halftime.
- Samford got as close as 13 points on three occasions in the third quarter.
- Furman held a 44-29 lead at the end of the third quarter.
- The Paladins stretched their lead to as many as 21 points in the fourth quarter at 55-34.
- Furman finished the game with the 57-36 victory.
