BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford volleyball team picked up a 3-1 (23-25, 25-11, 25-17, 25-11) win over The Citadel in Southern Conference action Friday night at the Pete Hanna Center.

With the win, Samford improves to 15-5 overall and 9-1 in Southern Conference play. The Citadel falls to 8-14 overall and 2-7 in league play.

In the first set, The Citadel jumped out to a 9-5 lead, but Samford fought back to take a 12-11 advantage.
With the score tied at 23-23, The Citadel scored the final two points to take the 25-23 win.
Samford took an early 7-1 lead in the second set.
Samford never trailed in the set, finishing with the 25-11 win.
The third set was tight early, but Samford was able to separate for a 20-11 lead.
The Bulldogs won the third set by a score of 25-17.
Samford raced out to a 16-4 lead in the fourth set.
Samford never looked back, winning the set, 25-11 and the match, 3-1.
