Soccer Wins SoCon Tournament Title With 1-0 Win Over Furman

GREENSBORO, N.C. –
The top-seeded Samford soccer team won the Southern Conference Tournament title with a 1-0 win over second-seeded Furman Sunday afternoon at the UNCG Soccer Stadium. The tournament championship earns Samford the SoCon's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
 
The tournament title is the Bulldogs' third since joining the league, and the first since 2016. Samford will learn its NCAA Tournament first-round opponent and location when the pairings are announced Monday at 3:30 p.m. (CT). The selection show will air live on www.NCAA.com. Samford will host a selection show watch party in the Hospitality Suite on the second floor of the Pete Hanna Center.
 
Samford improves to 13-3-5 on the season with the win. Furman ends its season with a mark of 14-6-1.  
 
Samford goalkeeper Morgan McAslan was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. She was joined on the All-Tournament team by teammates Kylie Gazza, Allie Lourie and Taylore Miller. Miller also won the Pinnacle Award, which goes to the player on the winning team with the highest GPA.
