BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's basketball team picked up an impressive 70-57 win over the Manhattan College Jaspers Tuesday night in the Pete Hanna Center.

With the win, Samford improves to 3-3 on the season. Manhattan falls to 2-1 with the loss.

Josh Sharkey led Samford with 17 points and eight assists in the win.
Jalen Dupree and Brandon Austin scored 15 points each.
Robert Allen added seven points for Samford.
Tykei Greene led Manhattan with 13 points and eight rebounds.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

The game was tight in the first half until, with Manhattan leading, 15-14, Samford went on a 9-2 run to take a 23-15 lead with 7:02 left in the first half after a put-back layup by Donte Tatum.
Manhattan fought back to cut the lead to 23-22 with 5:12 left in the half after a three-pointer by Samir Stewart.
Samford responded with an 11-0 run to close the half and take a 34-22 lead following a three-pointer by Logan Padgett at the first-half buzzer.
Samford built its lead to 15 points at 51-36 with 11:33 left in the second half after a three-pointer by Austin.
Manhattan came back to cut the lead to seven at 53-46 with 6:34 to go following a layup by Elijah Buchanan.
After Samford pushed the lead back out to 13 points, the Jaspers came back to close to within six points at 61-55 with 2:24 to go after a dunk by Warren Williams.
Samford, however, was able to pull away down the stretch for the 70-57 win.
