SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford junior defender Taylore Miller was named the Southern Conference's Defensive Player of the Year, and six Bulldogs were named All-SoCon when the league released its postseason women's soccer awards Tuesday afternoon.
 
Miller was joined on the first team All-SoCon team by forward Taylor Yount, midfielder Alyssa Frazier, defender Lexi Orman and goalkeeper Morgan McAslan. Forward Caroline Orman was named to the second team. Additionally, Yount, Kyla Reynolds and Nikki Bario were all named to the All-Freshman team.
 
Miller was one of the leaders of a defense that allowed just three goals in the team's nine conference games. The team posted six shutouts in conference play. For the entire season, the Bulldogs had 10 shutouts, tied for the most in the conference.
 
Yount led the team with 10 goals, tying for the most in the SoCon this season. Frazier scored four goals, and led the team with seven assists for a total of 15 points. Lexi Orman helped solidify the top defensive team in the SoCon this season. McAslan led the SoCon with a 0.85 goals against average, allowing just 16 goals in 19 games played.
 
Caroline Orman had four goals and four assists for a total of 12 points this season. Reynolds was second on the team with eight goals, and she also had one assist, giving her 17 points on the season. Bario tallied four goals and one assist for nine points.
 
Samford posted a record of 10-3-5 overall and 7-1-1 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs won a share of their sixth-straight Southern Conference regular season title. Samford will take on Mercer in the SoCon Tournament semifinals Friday at 3 p.m. (CT) in Greensboro, N.C.
